Total: 63.50 | -106.00 Over
Result: Loss
Total: 63.50 | -106.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is an 8* TOTAL ASSASSIN on the UNDER between Louisiana Lafayette and Arkansas State.
While both teams have been putting a ton of points on the board this season, we feel that the conditions are now right for more of a battle and look for this total to sneak below the posted number once the final whistle sounds. The Ragin' Cajuns have yet to win on the road, but a victory today would get them back to .500; QB Jalen Nixon is completing 62.8 percent of his passes for 533 yards, five TD's and two INT's. Where the team's real strength on the offensive side of the ball lies is in the ground game, which averages 231.2 yards per contest. Defensively the team is a bit of a mess, allowing 408.2 YPG, but the team does obviously catch a bit of a break today in facing Arkansas State's inconsistent offensive unit. The Red Wolves are already at .500 and they'll be looking to remain unbeaten in Sun Belt play, QB Fredi Knighten is completing just 46 percent of his passes though. But like the Cajuns, the team's true strength on offense is the ground game, which averages almost 200 yards per contest. Defensively the team is allowing an average of 375.8 YPG. Note that Louisiana Lafayette has seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of its last 12 off a win vs. a conference rival and in five of its last eight following a bye week, while Arkansas State has seen the total stay below the posted number in ten of its last 16 when playing with six or less days rest. These teams are very evenly matched across the board and with both looking to establish the run from start to finish and taking into account the strong "UNDER" trends listed above, all signs do indeed point the lower number as the savvy move in this contest.
