The reeling Giants hand the ball to ace Madison Bumgarner (16-7, 2.96 ERA) who gave up two runs off eight hits over seven innings in an unfortunate 2-1 setback vs. the Dodgers on Tuesday. Bumgarner though looks to extend his dominance today, he's 5-1 in his last eight starts and 7-1 with a 2.83 ERA in all "day" games this season. The home side counters with Yohan Flande (3-1, 4.04 ERA) who gave up two runs off five hits over five innings in a no-decision vs. the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Flande is 2-0 w/ a pedestrian 4.07 ERA in seven starts for the Rockies this year, but has posted a ballooned 5.60 ERA in all "day" games this season. We base almost all of our MLB selections on starting pitching and in this case, there's no doubt who has the clear advantage; we like Bumgarner and SAN FRANCISCO to make short work of Flande and to pull away in the middle innings and comfortably cruise the rest of the way.
