Money Line: -123.00 San Diego (Home)
Result: Win
This is a 10* GAME OF THE WEEK on the San Diego Padres.
The visitors hand the ball to Colby Lewis (13-5, 4.49 ERA), who was shelled for five runs off six hits, including two home runs, over five innings in a setback to the Jays on Wednesday. Lewis has for the most part been as solid as the Rangers could possibly ask for this year, but we feel the big right-hander's shaky performance vs. Toronto is a tell-tale sign that he's starting to crack down the stretch, a perfect situational factor that we and Tyson Ross (9-9, 3.42 ERA) can take advantage of today! Ross is coming off a sub-par outing, but still came away with a win after giving up four runs over 6 1/3's innings, striking out nine and walking two in a victory over the Nationals. The big right-hander was also 2-for-2 in the game to raise his season average to .244. To sum it up, we believe Lewis is going to struggle in the National league park, both on the mound and at the plate and that this is indeed the very definition of "great line value," play on the PADRES.
