This is a 10* FRIDAY NIGHT SCORPION on the Kansas City Chiefs.
We've played on the Chiefs in Weeks 1 and 2, both have been SU and ATS victories for Kansas City, vs. the Cardinals and Seahawks respectively. Last week we expected Chiefs' head coach Andy Reid to keep the momentum and pressure dialled up and to take advantage of home field surroundings and that's also exactly what we expect tonight. Reid is on the hot seat this season and while this is still just a meaningless preseason contest, the third week is considered the "dress rehearsal" for the real thing and as such, we once again look for the home side to take advantage of the situation. The Titans are 1-1 in the preseason after beating the Rams 27-14 last week. Expect rookie QB Marcus Mariota to have his hands full today on the road in the always hostile Arrow Head Stadium and the Kansas City first defensive unit. Mariota and backup Zach Mettenberger will be handing off to RB Bishop Sankey, who has looked strong through the first two games. All eyes will be on QB Alex Smith for the home side, he's looked pretty mediocre in his limited time under center so far, but we expect that to change tonight; Smith will finally have his first team offense on the field and we look for the veteran to be sharp tonight. Also note that backup Chase Daniel has actually been outperforming Smith to this point. In the QB department, we're giving the big nod to the home side. We'll call the defenses a "wash," but have to give the slight nod overall to the Chiefs because of the extreme home field advantage that they always enjoy. We can't see Reid folding up the tents in Week 3, look for KANSAS CITY to find a way to get the job done at the end of the night.
