The visitors hand the ball to Tyson Ross (8-9, 3.40 ERA) who gave up one run in a no-decision vs. the Braves on Wednesday, he'd go six innings and give up six hits, walking three and striking out five in the process. Ross has been the very model of consistency this year and has not given up more than three earned runs in any of his last five starts; note that Ross has to be feeling pretty confident that he can keep the momentum rolling here today as well as he's posted a fantastic 5-3, 2.71 ERA on the road thus far. The home side counters with Gio Gonzalez (9-6, 3.98 ERA) who has looked brilliant at times this year and pretty pedestrian in others, he's coming off an outing to forget in which he gave up five runs off eight hits over five innings in a setback to the Brewers on Friday. Gonzalez though has to be feeling pretty confident that he can bounce back in this position though as he's a highly respectable 5-2 with a 2.98 ERA in front of the home town crowd this year. With these two competent starters going head to head on Wednesday night, the UNDER does indeed become a very legitimate investment opportunity.
