This is a 10* TOTAL BEST-IN-SHOW on the OVER in the Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles.
The visitors hand the ball to Colby Lewis (7-3, 4.10 ERA) who went six innings and gave up three runs off five hits, while also walking three batters in his last start. Don't let Lewis' win/loss record fool you though, he's been adequate so far this year, but definitely not fantastic, there's no question that he's been the beneficiary of some timely support and note that he owns a pedestrian 4.59 road ERA. The home side counters with Miguel Gonzalez (6-4, 3.58 ERA) who returned from the DL to earn a win despite giving up four runs off eight hits over five innings, his first victory in five starts and first outing since the injury on June 10th. Gonzalez has been the very model of inconsistency this season and I think will have his hands full with this explosive Rangers line-up. Recent performance plays a part in my MLB handicapping process, neither starter comes in with any momentum whatsoever and as such, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
