AAA's American League "ASSASSIN!"
(MLB) Texas vs. Toronto,
Money Line: -163.00 Toronto (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -163.00 Toronto (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* ASSASSIN on the Toronto Blue Jays.
The home side turns to Mark Buehrle (7-4, 3.90 ERA) who has posted a 1.55 ERA in June over four starts, but who has just one win to show for it, most recently giving up two runs to the Orioles on Saturday, only to be letdown by his bullpen late. The Jays return home after taking two of three from the Rays, while the Rangers go North of the border on a season-high five game skid after yesterday's 6-3 defeat to Oakland. The visitors counter with Nick Martinez (5-3, 2.77 ERA) who for the most part has been excellent this year, but comes in off a sub-par effort after giving up three runs over six innings vs. the White Sox on Saturday. Looking at these two pitchers, I'm going to give Buehrle the slight nod, as good as Martinez has been on the road this season, Buehrle is clearly performing at a higher level across the board at the moment. Recent performance always plays a part in my MLB handicapping process. And at the plate, there's no comparison, the Rangers continue to struggle with RISP, while Toronto continues to find ways to win. I'm laying the price with confidence on the BLUE JAYS.
