AAA's Interleague "ART OF THE GAME!"
(MLB) Atlanta vs. Boston,
Money Line: -145.00 Boston (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -145.00 Boston (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* ART OF THE GAME on the Boston Red Sox.
The Braves turn to Williams Perez, who last got a start last Wednesday, going seven innings of four hit ball to improve to 2-0 on the season; that was then followed up with Perez earning a save on Saturday as Atlanta needed extra innings to finish off the Mets. Perez has looked great so far in his short introduction into the league, but obviously the book is still out on the rookie and he faces a stiff test on the road at Fenway. Perez will be opposed by Rick Porcello (4-6, 5.26 ERA) who is coming off an outing to forget in which he gave up ten hits and allowed five earned runs over 5 1/3's innings in his team's 5-2 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday. Porcello is 3-3 with a 4.81 ERA in front of the home town crowd. Clearly Porcello is not having the season he had hoped for, but with plenty of time to turn things around, this is without question a match-up which he can finally take advantage of. And I think the veteran does. For the most part MLB handicapping comes down to the starting pitching and in this case, I'm giving the home side the nod, play on the RED SOX.
