AAA's Interleague "ASSASSIN!"
(MLB) Philadelphia vs. Baltimore,
Money Line: -164.00 Baltimore (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -164.00 Baltimore (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* ASSASSIN on the Baltimore Orioles.
The Phillies send Aaron Harang (4-7, 3.04 ERA) to the hill in this interleague match-up. The Harang-a-tang was shelled for seven earned runs over six innings in his team's 11-2 loss vs. the Reds on Tuesday. The veteran was blasted for four home runs and note that a date on the road is not what the doctor ordered for Harang to get back on track, he's a poor 2-4 with a pedestrian 4.07 ERA away from friendly confines. Harang will be opposed by Wei-Yin Chen (2-4, 3.21 ERA) who is starting to trend in the opposite direction, most recently throwing five innings, striking out five and allowing just two earned runs to pick up his second win of the year over the Red Sox on Wednesday. Note that Chen is 1-3 with a respectable 3.60 ERA in front of the home town crowd. "Recent" performance always plays a part in my MLB handicapping process and there's no question who owns the advantage in that department between these two starters. The Orioles have come alive at the plate, and there's also no question that this is a beneficial match-up for the line-up as well. Chen gets the nod on the bump, the O's get the nod at the plate and that's more than enough to tip the scales in our favor, lay the price with confidence, play on BALTIMORE.
