AAA's EARLY 10* American League "ASSASSIN!"
(MLB) Detroit vs. Chi White Sox,
Money Line: -122.00 Chi White Sox (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -122.00 Chi White Sox (Home)
Result: Loss
This is a 10* ASSASSIN on the Chicago White Sox.
Jeff Samardzija was 2-0 with a 1.96 ERA over three starts, before then allowing nine runs and 12 hits over five innings in Tuesday's 15-2 loss at Texas. Samardzija has been a letdown so far for Chicago, but the veteran still comes into this game with a winning 4-3 record overall, while his ERA is a barely acceptable 4.68. While past success guarantees nothing in the future, Samardjiza still has to be feeling pretty confident in this spot, despite the early season struggles, he's still 3-0 with a highly respectable 2.57 ERA in four home starts and is 1-0 with a tiny 1.80 ERA in two life-time meetings against the Tigers. Until yesterday's 7-1 win, Detroit had been struggling mightily in batting .214 while averaging 2.8 runs during an eight game slide. The visitors hand the ball to Alfredo Simon (5-3, 2.97 ERA), who has just one victory over his last six starts, giving up four runs, while issuing five walks over 6 1/3's innings in a 5-3 home loss to Oakland on Tuesday. And in his only career outing vs. the White Sox, Simon would give up three runs while walking four over five frames in a 7-6 road loss on May 6th. I like the veteran Samardzija in this match-up, his numbers are all rock solid in this position and after the massive embarrassment in his last contest, his focus will be unquestioned here. Great line value, play on the WHITE SOX.
