This is a 6* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the LA Dodgers.
Clayton Kershaw and the LA Dodgers were ousted in the NL division series by the Cardinals and this will be his first crack at his arch-nemesis this year. Suffice it to say, I expect the home side's ace to come into this one extremely focused. Kershaw looked very un-Clayton Kershaw-like over his first nine starts, but he's won two straight by allowing two runs off nine scattered hits over 14 innings while striking out 17. The visitors counter with Jaime Garcia (1-2, 2.70 ERA) who has looked strong since returning from shoulder surgery, most recently giving up one run and three hits over seven frames in a 1-0 loss to Milwaukee on Monday. Like Kershaw though, Garcia has had plenty of difficulty with his opponent today, a pedestrian 1-1 record and ballooned 5.59 ERA in four starts lifetime. This is a big time revenge scenario for the Dodgers, who are looking to avoid losing for the fifth time in six games in this series. Yesterday's setback was particularly frustrating as the Cards would score twice in the eighth inning to come from behind to win 2-1. There are a ton of situational and motivational factors working in favor of LOS ANGELES today, so many in fact that I have no qualms whatsoever in laying this larger price.
