Jered Weaver has struggled throughout his career at Yankee Stadium, but the veteran comes in on fire, going 4-0 with a tiny 1.98 ERA over his last five starts. The home side counters with Nathan Eovaldi who is 4-1 with a 4.40 ERA this year. Eovaldi has regressed though as the season has worn on, most recently he gave up three runs off four hits over 4 2/3's innings in Saturday's 5-3 win at Oakland; also note that he's 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two starts against the Angels. Recent performance always plays a part in my handicapping process and I think these starters are going to battle deep into the latter frames and in a contest which I believe will be decided late or in extra innings, I have no problem at all in laying the price for the extra 1.5 runs of insurance.
