This is a 7* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Washington Nationals.
Washington has dropped four of five, but handing the ball to Jordan Zimmermann is always a good way to break out of a slump. The Nats will be especially motivated here after getting swept by the Reds over the weekend. Zimmermann is 4-2 with a 3.26 ERA and has logged eight straight quality starts, going 2-0 with a tiny 1.35 ERA over his last three. Most recently he gave up one run over seven innings, not factoring in to the 3-2 defeat to the Cubs on Tuesday. And note that Zimmermann has been particularly dominant in interleague contests, he's 6-0 with a 1.95 ERA at Nationals Park in such instances, winning each of the last four. And that's bad news for the Jays who are an AL-worst 5-15 on the road since April 24th. The visitors hand the ball to RA Dickey (2-5, 5.77 ERA) who has been brutal of late, posting a 7.92 ERA over his last four games, giving up seven home runs over 25 innings. Also note that Dickey is 0-3 with a 7.43 ERA in four road starts and 4-6 with a pedestrian 3.73 ERA in 15 career games against the Nationals. This is a bigger pitching mismatch than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe, fantastic line value on the NATIONALS.
