The Angels return home after a lengthy East coast road trip in which they finished .500. LA now begins a ten-game home stand and turns to Jered Weaver who is 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA in two career starts against the Friars and who is 3-0 with a tiny 1.54 ERA over his past three starts. Weaver has been particularly effective in interleague play, going a near perfect 11-1 with a 2.20 ERA over his last 19 such instances. The Padres temporarily woke up at the plate yesterday in their extremely satisfying 11-3 rout of the Dodgers, but remember, this was a team that hit .168 with 13 runs during a 1-7 stretch prior to yesterday's rare offensive outburst. The visitors counter with Tyson Ross who is 2-4 with a 3.93 ERA this season, he'd most recently give up three runs and four hits over seven innings of a 3-2 loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.
