This is an 8* play on the Cincinnati Reds.
For a number of different reasons I expect Johnny Cueto and company to find a way to get the job done at the end of the night. Cueto is 3-3 with a 2.98 ERA and leads the NL with 51 1/3's innings pitched; he's also gone at least seven innings in each of his three home starts, going 1-1 with a 1.23 ERA and would most recently give up four runs over nine innings in a 10-4 win over the White Sox on Saturday. Also note that Cueto is 3-1 with a 1.98 ERA in five career regular season starts against San Francisco. The visitors counter with Tim Lincecum who is 3-2 with a 2.00 ERA, most recently striking out eight over six frames in a 6-0 win over the Fish on Friday. Unfortunately for Lincecum, a date vs. Cincinnati is not what the doctor ordered to get untracked as he's 0-4 with a deplorable 9.79 ERA in six starts against it. Also note that many hitters have struggled in Cincinnati, including slugger Buster Posey who is 3 for 25 in his last seven regular season games there. I'm giving Cueto the slight nod on the bump, the REDS the slight nod at the plate and that's more than enough to tip the scales in the home side's favor, making this a price I have no issues at all in paying.
