Result: Loss
This is a 6* RUN-LINE play on the Chicago White Sox.
I believe the talent discrepancy on the mound absolutely justifies in laying the 1.5 runs for the large plus-money return. Momentum is a very real factor and it's one in which I have found that the books often have a hard time properly quantifying into a line, and that's the case here. The White Sox have shown a lot of life of late, after a rough start to the year, they won 5-2 in Tuesday's series opener before then rallying from a three-run deficit in the eighth for a 7-6 win yesterday. Jose Quintana is 1-2 with a 5.28 ERA, the veteran is 0-1 despite a very respectable 1.93 ERA over his last two outings though, most recently giving up one run over seven innings in a 1-0 loss at Minnesota on Friday. Also note that Quintana is 2-0 with a 2.48 ERA in five career home match-ups against Detroit. And that's bad news for Detroit stater Kyle Lobstein who is 2-2 with a 3.91 ERA; Lobstein most recently gave up four runs in a 4-1 setback at KC on Friday. I like the White Sox to complete the sweep today and expect them to do it in blowout fashion, play on CHICAGO on the RUN-LINE.
