Result: Loss
This is a 10* FIRST ROUND SIDE OF THE YEAR on the Detroit Red Wings.
Success in the NHL's postseason has a lot to do about a team's chemistry and which one can "catch fire" at the exact opportune moment. Those two traits perfectly describe the Detroit Red Wings, and with the Lightning's inability to solve goaltender Petr Mrazek, suffice it to say, in my opinion, this is the very definition of "great line value." Mrazek had 28 saves in Saturday's 4-0 win in Game 5; also note that Mrazek is 4-2-0 with a 1.58 GAA with three shutouts in his last six starts vs. Tampa Bay. Also remember, the Lightning would actually need a dramatic rally in Game 4 to even win the contest, scoring two goals with less than six minutes remaining and then potting the winner in OT. Also note that the Lightning are just 2 for 24 on the power play through the five games so far. It's also significant to note that Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop sports a pedestrian .901 save percentage in this series. And finally, note that Tampa Bay is a poor 6-7 (-2.7 units) this year in revenging a home loss vs. an opponent, while Detroit is 4-3 (+1.3 units) after shutting out its opponent in its previous game. The value is awesome here, play on the WINGS.
