This is an 8* play on the UNDER between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Washington Nationals.
I believe that these competent starting pitchers will be the main story lines in tomorrow's summaries. Max Scherzer has for the most part looked pretty solid so far for his new club, he faced the Phillies last weekend and would give up just one run over six innings of work, while also striking out eight for the second time in as many starts in his team's eventual 4-3, 10-inning victory. Scherzer of course lost his first outing of the year, 3-1 to the Mets. Philadelphia comes into this gave having lost five straight, including going 0-4 on the road after Thursday's 5-2 series opening defeat. It's the offense that is to blame, yesterday the team had just five hits and is batting .215 overall with 24 runs. The Nats have looked a lot better at the plate after a sluggish start to the year, but I think will be in tough against Sean O'Sullivan, who gave up five hits over six frames, leaving the game with the Phillies trailing 2-1 and ultimately receiving a no-decision for his overall dominant performance. Scherzer has started to settle in nicely and a game vs. the anemic Phillies is just what the doctor ordered to to keep the momentum rolling, I have a hard time seeing Philadelphia throwing a switch and correcting all of its offensive problems over night, it's a perfect situation for us to take advantage of, in my opinion all signs do indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this contest.
