This is a 10* RND. 1 TOTAL OF THE YEAR on the UNDER between the Detroit Red Wings and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
When the smoke clears at the end of this one, I am expecting the total to fall below the posted number. If Detroit has any shot at winning this series, it will have to slow it down, the Lightning were the league's highest-scoring team during the regular season and won an NHL-best 32 games in front of the home town crowd. I think the visitors come in with an extremely defensive mind-set tonight as they look to set the early tone and steal the first game of this series and as such, we can expect Detroit to risk life and limb getting into shooting and passing lanes. The Wings send 23 year old Petr Mrazek to the net, he appeared in 29 games this year and finished with a great 2.38 GAA and .918 save percentage. Not to be outdone though, Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop definitely has something to prove as well, he set personal bests for wins (40-13-5 record) a stellar 2.32 GAA and .916 save percentage this season. While most will be predicting a high-scoring shootout, I think these two competent netminders will be the main story-line in tomorrow's summaries; play on the UNDER.
