AAA's 10* *Wainwright/Lester* TOTAL BLOCKBUSTER (+$6,539 w/ ALL MLB 2014!)
(MLB) St. Louis vs. Chi Cubs,
Total: 7.00 | -117.00 Over
Result: Win
Total: 7.00 | -117.00 Over
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL BLOCKBUSTER on the UNDER between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs.
When the smoke clears at the end of this one, I expect the total to fall below the posted number. For the most part, MLB handicapping comes down to the starting pitching, we have a great match-up in the 2015 opener and I expect these Cy Young candidates to battle into the latter frames. Tom Ricketts, the chairman of of the Cubs feels his team can take a major step forward this year: "We were pretty transparent: It was `It's gonna take a few years, we're gonna have to do this the right way, that probably means a lot of losses," Ricketts said earlier in the week. "But I think right now, everyone knows that we've got a good young team and we've added some good veterans this offseason. We have a chance this year. We'll compete for our division title and everyone's excited about that." St. Louis of course is expected to make a fifth consecutive playoff appearance. Lester was given a massive contract and is expected to deliver; after getting traded to Oakland last year, the 9-year pro would finish 16-11 with a 2.46 ERA overall. Wainwright is also coming off a fantastic campaign, finishing 20-9 with a 2.38 ERA. As a situational handicapper, I think this one sets up perfectly, I believe the starters will be the main headline in tomorrow's summaries as all signs do indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this one.
