This is a 10* O/U SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION on the UNDER between the Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors.
Both teams have been playing to some pretty high-scoring affairs of late, but I think the conditions are finally right for a more defensive battle and expect this total to sneak below the posted number once the final horn blares. Do you think the Raptors are "hungry" and motivated today? I think it's safe to say that Toronto will be extremely focused after losing nine of its last ten overall; also note that the Raptors have dropped 16 straight to the Heat. Despite all of the losing, Toronto is still in very good shape to make the postseason with a 10.5 game lead over Boston. Poor defensive play though has been the main culprit for the letdown, the club has allowed averages of 112.0 points and 49.4 percent shooting in losing four straight. Toronto begins a stretch of playing seven of its next ten at the Air Canada Centre and will be eager to atone for a 107-102 setback at home to the Heat back on November 2nd. Miami won't be simply rolling over today though obviously, it could care less about Toronto's issues and is still pursuing the East's final playoff spot. Two motivated teams, I think this focus and determination from each club will translate into a very aggressive and defensive affair on the court today. Note that Miami has seen the total go UNDER the number in 24 of 35 this year vs. good offensive teams which average 99-plus points per contest, while Toronto has seen the total stay below the posted number in 13 of 22 in revenging a loss vs. an opponent this season. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this contest.
