This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE YEAR on the OVER between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Arizona Coyotes.
Neither of these teams has been playing to many high-scoring affairs of late, but in my opinion the conditions are finally right for a shootout; I ultimately expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Chicago continues to roll without Patrick Kane in the line-up, going 3-1-1 since his injury, totaling just nine regulation goals though and being shutout twice, most recently 1-0 by the Rangers on Sunday. It goes without saying that the high-powered Hawks will be eager to get things turned around offensively, the power play is a dismal 0 for 13 in those five games and just 2 for 28 over the last ten. If history is any precedence though, then the visitors have to be liking their chances for a much more productive game as they've outscored the Coyotes 8-3 to go 1-0-1 in the season's first two meetings, both played in Chicago. Arizona can empathize, it's posted just 15 non-shootout goals during a horrible 1-9-2 stretch in front of the home town crowd. The Coyotes won't be rolling over here, it's safe to say the team will be just as hungry after losing 12 of its last 13 overall. I think the focus and determination that each side plays with today will translate into production on the offensive end, a great situational play in my opinion, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the sharp move in this contest.
