This is an 8* COAST-TO-COAST BEATDOWN on the Detroit Pistons.
For a number of different reasons I expect the visitors to pull away down the stretch for the comfortable ATS cover. Detroit's playoff aspirations are dwindling after a recent offensive slump, but I think the teams rallies today and takes advantage of the defensively inept Lakers. Detroit had pulled to within one game of eighth place in the Eastern Conference, but a six-game slide has the visitors playing catch-up again. The Pistons are most recently coming off a 108-101 setback at home to Charlotte on Sunday. A date vs. the lowly Lakers is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked in my opinion though, LA has dropped five in a row and is an NBA-worst 4-21 since early January. The Lakers are setting franchise futility records in many statistical categories this year and have averaged just 18.7 points on 35.4 percent shooting in the fourth quarter over the last three games. Note that Detroit is 7-3 ATS in its last ten vs. good offensive teams that score 99-plus points per contest, also 16-13 ATS in all road games this season and 6-4 ATS vs. poor defensive teams that allow 99-plus points per contest. In my opinion, this line should be a little larger, good value on the PISTONS.
