AAA's 10* WEST-CONF TOTAL OF MONTH (9-3 +$5,990 "GOY/GOM" RUN!)
(NHL) Colorado vs. Minnesota,
Total: 5.00 | -105.00 Under
Result: Push
This is a 10* WESTERN-CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the OVER between the Colorado Avalanche and the Minnesota Wild.

For a number of different reasons I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Both teams have been playing to a number of UNDERS of late and I think that clearly swings the value in favor of the higher number in this one. Note that Colorado has seen the total go UNDER the number in three straight, including in last night's 4-0 defeat of Columbus, while Minnesota has seen it stay below the number in four straight, including its 3-1 win in Carolina on Friday. These teams have played each other four times this year and guess what?! Yes, you guessed it, all four of those contests have also fallen below the posted number (note that the Wild have prevailed in all four games). Minnesota comes in with plenty of momentum and confidence as it's won five-straight. Colorado clearly won't just be rolling over here, it's won seven of ten and is still pushing for a playoff spot despite being behind the Wild by 10 points for a Wild card spot. Note though that Colorado goaltender Semyon Varlamov has posted a pedestrian 3.41 GAA while losing six straight starts to Minnesota. Also note that Colorado has seen the total go OVER the posted number in two of three this year after shutting out its opponent in its previous game and in six of 11 after a win by two goals or more, while Minnesota has seen it sail above the number in three of five this season after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERS. In my opinion, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the sharp move in this contest.
