Total: 215.50 | -110.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is an 8* O/U WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the LA Clippers and the Golden State Warriors.
What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about these two teams? For me, it's dynamic offensive players, so it may come as a surprise to learn that neither side has been playing to many high-scoring affairs of late. However, I believe the conditions are finally correct for a classic high-scoring shootout and expect this number to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Note that LA has seen the total go UNDER the number in five of its last six, while Golden State has seen it dip below the posted number in eight of its last ten including two straight. And note, the last time these teams played against each other, the Clippers would pull off the 100-86 win on Christmas day, the total falling well below the posted number of 219 1/2 in that one. That's a lot of UNDER trends colliding today and in my opinion, that clearly swings the value to the higher number in this contest. The Warriors have to be feeling pretty confident today, they've won six straight in the regular season vs. LA and are coming off a 104-89 win over Dallas on Friday. LA will give the home side its best shot though, note that these are still the top two scoring, shooting and offensive rated teams in the league. Golden State is first in scoring (109.9) and shooting (47.7 percent), while LA is second in scoring (106.4) and shooting (47.0). Note that the Clippers have seen the total go OVER the number in both games they've played this year when playing with three or more days of rest, while Golden State has seen the total sail above the posted number in six of 11 vs. division opponents. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
