AAA's 10* GOALTENDERS BATTLE (MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY!)
(NHL) Vancouver vs. Boston,
Total: 5.00 | -123.00 Over
Result: Win
Total: 5.00 | -123.00 Over
Result: Win
This is a 10* GOALTENDERS BATTLE on the UNDER between the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins.
For a number of different resaons I expect this total to sneak below the posted number once the final horn blares. Both teams are coming off wins and each is pushing for a playoff spot, I think this determination will translate into a hard-hitting, classic low-scoring battle. The B's had lost six straight before beating Chicago 6-2 on Sunday. Boston will also be out to avenge a 5-2 loss in Vancouver on February 13th. Boston still holds a three-point lead over Florida for the final playoff spot in the East, while Vancouver is three points better than LA, Calgary and San Jose for second spot in the Pacific Division. The Canucks are most recently coming off an impressive 4-0 win at the Islanders on Sunday and I expect the team to carry that defensive momentum over into this one; note that goaltender Eddie Lack has posted a very respectable 2.13 GAA over his last six games. Note that Vancouver has seen the total go UNDER the posted number in 14 of 23 this year after a non-conference game, while Boston has seen the total dip below the posted number in eight of its last 15 after scoring four goals or more in its previous contest. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this one.
