AAA's 10* O/U COAST-TO-COAST EXPRESS!

Total: 5.50 | -107.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* O/U COAST-TO-COAST EXPRESS on the UNDER between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the San Jose Sharks.
For a number of different reasons I expect this total to stay below the posted number once the final horn sounds. Tampa has not had any issues in putting the puck in the net, but it's struggled mightily with its defense of late and suffice it to say, I expect all hands on deck tonight. The Lightning have lost five of nine and three of their last four and will be looking to avoid a three game losing streak for the first time since March. The Bolts are most recently coming off a lacklustre 6-3 setback to St. Louis on Thursday: "We didn't play well defensively," star Steven Stamkos said afterwards.. "We were giving pucks away and not winning battles, kind of the opposite of the way we wanted to come out ... That's not acceptable, especially in front of our fans." Whichever Tampa goaltender gets the nod, he'll have his hands full, the Sharks had lost five of six before rallying for a 4-2 win over Arizona on Friday. Note that Sharks goaltender Antti Niemi is 5-0-1 lifetime vs. the Bolts. Also note that Tampa Bay has seen the total go UNDER the number in six of nine in revenging a home loss vs. an opponent, while San Jose has seen the total dip below the posted number in nine of 15 this year after scoring 4 goals or more in its previous contest. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this one.
