For a number of different reasons I feel that the Sharks are worth the price of admission in this spot. "Desperation" is often a factor in which the books have a hard time properly quantifying into a line and that's the case here I think as San Jose will be completely focused on the task at hand as it looks to avoid a season high-tying fourth straight loss. The Sharks are most recently coming off a 5-4 OT setback at home to the Capitals, after falling 3-1 to Calgary previous. These teams have split a pair of games this year, note that Sharks' goaltender Anttii Niemi is 7-0-3 with a 1.73 GAA in his last ten starts vs. the Coyotes. Arizona comes in with zero momentum or motivation, it's lost three of four after falling 2-1 to the Blues on Tuesday. Coyotes' goaltender Mike Smith has enjoyed a lot of success vs. San Jose in the past, but I think will have his hands full today, as note that the Sharks are 9-3 (+3.8 units) after playing three consecutive home games. And note that Arizona is a poor 1-7 (-6 units) in revenging a home loss vs. an opponent this year. I think there are enough situational and motivational factors working in favor of SAN JOSE today to give it a serious second look in this matchup.
