This is a 10* O/U ART OF WAR on the OVER between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies.
For a number of different reasons I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Whether Kevin Durant plays or not for the Thunder, I think the conditions are right for a higher-scoring shootout as the visitors will be pushing this one from the outset as they try to avoid a fourth consecutive road loss. Memphis has been playing great lately and will be gunning for a fifth straight win. OKC would beat Minnesota 92-84 on Monday, but then fall 100-92 to New York on Wednesday. So not only will the Thunder be looking to atone for that lacklustre effort, they'll also be out to avenge a 91-89 home loss to the Grizzlies on November 7th. Memphis could obviously care less about Oklahoma City's issues and will be looking to build off Thursday's 99-69 win over Denver on Thursday; suffice it to say, after the epic defensive performance, I think the normally defensive minded Grizz come in a bit flat footed and complacent today. And note that is in fact a spot in which Memphis has seen the total go OVER the number many times already this year, in 12 of 23 home games and in 15 of 26 vs. good offensive teams which average 99 plus points per contest. And note that OKC has seen the total sail above the posted number in ten of 17 in revenging a loss vs. an opponent and in ten of 18 when playing against a team with a winning record. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
