AAA's 10* EAST-CONF TOTAL OF MONTH (+$50,490 NBA RUN CONT!)

Total: 194.50 | -110.00 Under

This is a 10* EASTERN-CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the OVER between the Toronto Raptors and the Philadelphia 76ers.
For a number of different reasons I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Toronto has been struggling over the last three weeks and hasn't been able to string together wins over its last 11 games. However, here's a perfect opportunity for it to go on a run, its next five contests are against clubs under .500 and a date vs. the hapless 76ers is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked offensively in my opinion as the visitors go for a seventh straight win in the series tonight. Toronto is just 3-8 since December 28th and has averaged a parlty 90.0 points during a 1-3 stretch of futility. So have the Raptors forgotten how to play? I don't think so, all teams go through periods like this, remember, Toronto is still the highest scoring team in the Eastern Conference at 105.9 per game. Note that the visitors will be particularly motivated for a break out performance as well after shooting just 31.8 percent in Wednesday's 92-86 loss in Memphis. There's not many positives that you can say about the 76ers though, they're just plain horrible at both ends of the court, they're making a league-low 40.9 percent of shots from the floor and are coming off a 98-91 home loss to New York on Wednesday. However, take note that this is a spot in which the home side has seen the total soar above the posted number many times already this year, including in five of eight following a divisional contest and in four of six as a home underdog in the 9.5 to 12 points range. And note that Toronto has seen the total go OVER the number in 14 of 22 vs. teams with losing records this year and in 13 of 19 road contests. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
