This is a 10* FIRST HALF TOTAL OF THE YEAR on the OVER between the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards.
Despite being down Carmelo Anthony to injury and trading away Iman Shumpert and JR Smith to Cleveland as part of a three-team trade with OKC shortly before Monday's 105-83 loss at Memphis, I think that New York comes to play today; don't think it can happen? Try telling to that to the Detroit Pistons who released Josh Smith and then won six games straight. The Knicks are clearly a desperate team, they're on the verge of the longest losing streak in franchise history; also note, to say this is a revenge game would be a bit of an understatement I think as the Wiz have taken five straight in the series. Washington could clearly care less about New York's issues and would love nothing more than to whoop this team while it's down and to build off Monday's 92-85 win at New Orleans which snapped a season-worst three-game slide; note though, the Wizards gave up an average of 106.8 points during the first four games of its 2-3 road trip. And note, despite their recent slide the Knicks have in fact seen the total go OVER the number in 15 of their last 22 on the road, while the Wizards have seen the total sail above the number in four of their last six after holding a team to 85 points or less in their previous contest. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
