AAA's O/U EAST-COAST EXPRESS (EPIC NHL RUN CONT!)

Total: 5.00 | -107.00 Under

This is an 8* O/U EAST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New Jersey Devils.
For a number of different reasons I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Both of these teams are suffering through frustrating seasons and neither is known for its proficiency on the offensive end of the ice, but as I like to say: "desperation breeds motivation". I'm fully expecting to see the red light come on at least six times in this game between desperate clubs. The Hurricanes will be desperate to avoid a ninth loss in ten games and a fifth in a row vs. the Devils. Carolina will be especially motivated as well to produce on the offensive end of the ice after scoring just 12 goals during a 1-7-1 stretch. Unfortunately for Carolina, it's starting goaltending has also been sub-par, Anton Khudobin fell to 0-8-2 with a 2.91 GAA after the loss to the Rangers on Sunday. The Devils can empathize, they're coming off a 4-0 loss to Washington on Saturday to get shut out for the second time in three games. Both are super hungry and each will be working its hardest to put some points on the board, but note that Carolina has in fact seen the total go OVER the number in five of eight this year in revenging a home loss vs. an opponent, while New Jersey has seen it sail above the posted number in six of 11 this year after a loss by two goals or more in its previous contest. After taking all of the above factors into consideration, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the sharp move here.
