This is a 10* TOTAL ART OF THE GAME on the OVER between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets.
Neither of these teams has been lighting up the scoreboard of late, but for a number of different reasons I believe this total will eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. The 76ers are coming off a 95-79 loss at Atlanta on Wednesday, led by Michael Carter-Williams who has averaged 17.7 points and 11.7 assists over the last six games. Philadelphia will be playing with revenge today after it fell 99-91 at home to Brooklyn back on November 26th. The Nets are struggling right now, but as I always like to say, desperation breeds motivation and I think the home side comes to play today. Certainly Brooklyn will be looking to atone for its listless 105-80 setback to the Bulls on Wednesday. Philadelphia could obviously care less about the Nets issues though, it has enough of its own, as the 76ers will look to take advantage of a Brooklyn defense which has given up an average of 103.3 points in its last six home games. Note that the 76ers have seen the total go OVER the number in three of five this year after scoring 85 points or less, while the Nets have seen the total sail above the posted number in two of three this season after scoring 85 points or less. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends all do indeed point to the OVER as the sharp move here.
