AAA's 10* VERY EARLY TOTAL "ASSASSIN!" (SOLID 45-34 Y-T-D NHL!)

This is a 10* TOTAL ASSASSIN on the OVER between the Ottawa Senators and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
For a number of different situational and trend based reasons, I look for this total to eclipse the posted number. Both of these teams have big expections this season, but neither has been lighting up the scoreboard recently, a trend which I firmly believe gets reversed today. The home side is suffering from a number of injuries, but that just means next man up! Desperation breeds motivation, both of these teams are looking to shrug off some recent lacklustre efforts, a perfect situation for us to take advantage of. "I just think we need to play better," Pens captain Sidney Crosby said. "That's the bottom line." The Sens can empathize, they're coming off back-to-back low-scoring losses to the Islanders and have lost five straight overall. Note though that the Ottawa offense gets a boost here with Bobby Ryan and Marc Methot healthy again. And note that the Senators have seen the total go OVER the number in three of four this year after scoring 1 goal or less in their previous game, while the Penguins have seen it sail above the number in four of five this season following a non-conference contest. In my opinion, we're getting great line value on the OVER here.
