For a number of different situational and strong trend based reasons, I think this total is a little high and definitely feel the value lies in the lower number. These two teams have a lot to play for today, the winner will claim the Mountain West Division title and the right to host the conference championship game. Colorado State was in a three-way tie with the No. 25 Broncos and Aggies but lost to Air Force on Friday. Boise State has won seven straight coming into this one and 12 in a row at Broncos Stadium. Utah State would lose to Fresno State 24-17 in last year's championship game and would obviously love another shot at redemption today. Utah State has overcome the loss of three QB's to post five-straight inws behind the No. 1 scoring defense in the conference, holding opponents to 18.3 PPG and 26 TD's through 12 contests. One player to keep your eyes on today is defensive player of the year candidate Zach Vigil, who ranks second in the MWC with eight sacks and who has amassed 133 tackles. Boise State owns the conferences top ranked scoring offense, but I think will run into a buzzsaw today. I do not foresee this one being wide open at all, more of a "chess match" where field position becomes a major factor in determining the final outcome. Note that Utah State has seen the total go UNDER the number in three of four as an underdog this year, while Boise State has seen it fall below the number in four of its last six after two or more consecutive SU wins. A great situational play in my opinion, with so much on the line I think this sets up perfectly as a lower-scoring battle; play on the UNDER.
