This is an 8* CIVIL WAR TOP SIDE on Oregon State.

Oregon has won six straight Civil War matchups, but Oregon State would take it to the wire last year and I think can do the same this time around; while I won't call for the outright upset, I do definitely feel that this is too many points to be giving up and expect the Beavers to keep this one a lot more competitive than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe. There are playoff implications for both teams. Oregon has already clinched a spot in next week's Pac-12 Championship game and will need to sweep out to punch its ticket to the inaugural College Football Playoff. Oregon State has just five wins to this point, meaning it will need to pull off the epic upset today to become bowl eligible. From an offense/defense angle, this is a pretty evenly matched contest: Oregon had the nation's third ranked offense, while Oregon State's defensive unit ranks second in the Pac-12 in total defense. In my opinion, there's no need to get into the individual player matchups, the stats are what they are. I think the home side's unit can keep this one pretty close. So can the Beavers move the ball against the Ducks? Oregon is eigthth in the Pac-12 in giving up 435.7 YPG; Oregon State only averages 23.6 PPG, but the offense has definitely progressed as the season has worn on. And note that Oregon State is 8-5 ATS in its last 13 off a loss vs. a conference rival. A few too many points here in my opinion, play on the BEAVERS.
