This is an 8* O/U EAST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Boston Bruins.
Both of these power house teams has struggled offensively of late, but despite that, I think this total eclipses the number early and definitely feel we're getting great value on the higher number. Boston two took of three from Pittsburgh last year and has won the last four at home. The B's will definitely be looking to open it up today, they've scored just nine goals during a 3-3-0 stretch after Saturday's 2-0 listless home loss to Montreal: "If there's something we're going to critique here it's probably the fact that we didn't put enough pucks on net and get some net-front presence," coach Claude Julien assessed. "... We're not scoring goals easily these days, so we've really got to get our noses dirty in front of the net and throw some pucks in areas where we can jump on those loose pucks." The Pens could care less about Boston's problems, they're coming off a 4-1 loss at the Islanders, completing a disappointing 0-1-1 home and home series. Despite the lacklustre effort though, note that Pittsburgh is averaging a league-best 3.53 goals so far this year. Note that Boston has seen the total go OVER the number in six of its last nine vs. teams with winning records, while Pittsburgh has seen it sail above the number in three of five this year after allowing 4 goals or more. In my opinion, all signs point to the OVER as the savvy move here.
