AAA's EARLY *Falcons/Panthers* TOTAL BLOCKBUSTER!
(NFL) Atlanta vs. Carolina,
Total: 46.50 | 100.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is an 8* TOTAL BLOCKBUSTER on the OVER between the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers.

Neither of these teams has been lighting up the score-board of late and each has struggled with consistency from week to week, however I believe the conditions are finally right for a higher-scoring shootout today and look for this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Both teams are just 3-6, but sit just one game back of division leader New Orleans who is at 4-5. Atlanta though comes in with some momentum here following its 27-17 win over Tampa Bay. Carolina on the other hand will look to rebound off a 45-21 loss at Philadelphia on Monday, dropping the team to a dismal 1-6-1 in its last eight. The Falcons looked a lot better in establishing the run game last week, totaling 110 on the ground after averaging 69.5 in their previous four; QB Matt Ryan was finally able to complete some passes with an honest defense. Also note that the offensive line looked a lot better, Atlanta gave up just one sack after allowing 11 over the previous three games: "I thought our offensive line did a nice job and I thought Steven Jackson played extremely physically," Ryan assessed afterwards. "He went out there running between the tackles and did a great job for us." Note that Carolina's already beleagured defensive unit took a hit as DT Star Lotulelei will be sitting after suffering a sprained ankle last week. And that's bad news for a unit which gave up a season-high 328 passing yards in last week's setback. QB Cam Newton hasn't been at his best of late, but a date vs. the Falcons worst pass defense and its overall 11 sacks is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked. Note that Atlanta has seen the total go OVER the number in two of three vs. division opponents this year, while Carolina has seen it sail above the number in two of three this season after two or more consecutive SU losses. I think these two division foes and playoff hopefuls open up the playbook and that the savvy move in this one is definitely on the OVER.
