There are a lot of reasons to like NIU here I won't lie. Their QB is 23-2 as a starter, and the Huskies have won 25 straight vs MAC teams and a 32-1 overall the last 33 games. Crazy. Even though they are a 1 win away from b2b BCS bowls, I am fading them here. Want to know why a team that is ranked this high and on a 32-1 is only favored by 3 points vs a team they crushed they crushed 45-14 in 2011? Defense. Over the last 4 games BG has given up only 1 offensive TD. Three of those 4 games were on the road. 176-17. That is what they have outscored their last 4 opponents by. BG ranked #7 in total yards giving up less than 300pg. How is this tidbit. Bowling Green held Buffalo to 15 yards rushing six days after limiting Eastern Michigan to four yards passing. I guess in the case of Northern Illinois, if you have the #4 ypg offense at over 500 a game, you can have a #75 ranked defense.
