Strasburg's road problems have made him one of the more overrated pitchers in baseball while Alvarez quietly has put together a magnificent, breakout season.

Strasburg is 1-6 away from home with a 5.09 ERA. That already horrendous ERA balloons to 8.61 during his last five starts at Marlins Park. The Marlins are playing well having won five in a row. They have a lot of confidence after pulling out last night's game with a four-run rally in the ninth inning.

Strasburg isn't in good form either surrendering eight earned runs in his last two starts (one home and one away game) in 12 1/3 innings. During this span, he's given up 16 hits and four walks.

Washington has lost six of the last eight times Strasburg has been favored.

The Marlins, on the other hand, have won 13 of the last 16 times Alvarez has been on the mound. They are 8-1 in his last nine home starts. Alvarez has a 2.62 ERA on the season. In his last 12 starts, Alvarez has allowed two earned runs or less.

Alvarez might not have to deal with slugging outfielder Jayson Werth, who left last night's game with a leg injury.
