Stephen Nover's MLB Free Tuesday Play
(MLB) Pittsburgh vs. San Diego,
Point Spread: -1.50 | -125.00 San Diego (Home)
Result: Win
Unless there has been a hidden sighting of Julio Franco, the oldest player in the majors is 43-year-old Rich Hill.

So you can't be too tough on the ancient lefty as he struggles during this extremely hot July. Hill is 0-2 in four starts this month with a 6.35 ERA and 1.64 WHIP.

San Diego's offense has mostly underachieved this season. But the Padres are in the top-nine in slugging percentage and OPS versus lefty pitching.

The Padres are starting a southpaw, too. He's Blake Snell and he's one of the hottest pitchers in baseball. Snell has looked like his 2018 American League Cy Young Award-winning form during the past two months. Snell has a 0.71 ERA in his last 11 starts. He has 95 strikeouts in his past 63 innings.

The Pirates rank 21st in slugging percentage and 18th in OPS when facing left-handed pitching. Against all pitching, the Pirates rank 24th in runs and 26th in homers.

The question is can the Padres win by more than one run?

Yes as 12 of San Diego's last 13 victories have been by multiple runs. The Pirates have lost 14 of their last 19 games with 13 of those defeats occurring by at least two runs.

(Editor's note: Stephen Nover's Tuesday card is headed by his Max Unit Baseball Game of the Week as he looks to go 81-53-2 on his last 136 Max Unit baseball plays. Stephen also has a Bookie Basher baseball sides play and WNBA sides play looking to go 13-3-1 on his last 17 premium/free WNBA plays. These selections can be purchased individually, or at a special discount package rate.)
