The Red Wings and Sabres are two of the more improved teams in the NHL this season. Detroit is 4-4 while Buffalo is 5-3.

I'm getting involved with the visiting Red Wings primarily because of line value, but also because of recent history and the situation.

Detroit has had Buffalo's number winning all four of last season's games with three of those matchups going into overtime. The Red Wings are 4-1 in their last five trips to Buffalo.

Rasmus Dahlin is developing into a Norris Trophy-level defenseman for the Sabres. But Buffalo has some banged-up blue liners. The Sabres perhaps may lack a little intensity after coming from behind to nip the Blackhawks, 4-3, in overtime at home this past Saturday.
