I'm not going to overreact to Cal-Irvine losing, 62-51, to New Mexico State on the road in its opener this past Tuesday.
The Anteaters are strong at home. I'm attracted to them as a home dog since I have them power-rated to be favored. Cal-Irvine has covered 72 percent of its past 34 home games.
These two teams last met two seasons ago in mid-November and Cal-Irvine won, 69-60.
Cal-Irvine has the height to match up against Boise State. The Anteaters have one of the better players in the West in senior forward Collin Welp.
