(MLB) Kansas City vs. Minnesota,
Total: 9.00 | -135.00 Over
Result: Push
Quietly, the Royals are scoring runs. Kansas City is averaging 6.5 runs in its last six games.
The Twins set a single-season MLB record for homers last year. Minnesota's offense has been down this season. However, the Twins still rank No. 2 in homers and their bats could be heating up. The Twins are coming off a 12-2 victory against the Brewers on Wednesday.
Offense should dominate this Game 1 series opener with Jakob Junis facing Jake Odorizzi. The Twins just saw Junis a week ago while the Royals went against Odorizzi six days ago.
Let's start with Junis. He's a backend rotation type starter - and that's only for a bad team. He gave up two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings against the Twins last Friday. He has a 4.32 ERA in two lifetime starts at Target Field. His career ERA versus Minnesota is 4.23.
Odorizzi is making only his second start of the season. He allowed two runs on four hits and two walks in three innings when he faced the Royals last Saturday. He has a 4.94 career ERA against Kansas City in 12 appearances, including 11 starts. Odorizzi started twice versus the Royals last year and had an unimposing 7.20 ERA.
The offenses should be aided, too, by the wind. The forecast is for 15-17 mph winds blowing out to left.
