#901/902 ASA PLAY ON Over 10.5 Runs – St Louis Cardinals @ Chicago Cubs, Sunday at 1 PM ET - Very warm weather in Chicago this afternoon with a south wind blowing quite well and the ball is going to carry extremely well at Wrigley Field this afternoon. We were waiting for this one as we knew the expected weather coming this weekend and the hot weather and solid winds coupled with the expected pitching match-up here have set this one up well. Miles Mikolas the expected starter for the Cardinals and he is 2-4 with a 6.54 ERA in day games this season. Jameson Taillon the scheduled starter for the Cubs here and he is off a solid road start but had been struggling including at home. Before his solid outing at Tampa Bay, Taillon had allowed 14 earned runs in 21 innings over his 4 previous starts. Also, prior to that good outing against the Rays, Taillon allowed 38 hits in 25 innings over his 5 previous starts! The Cubs bullpen ranks near the bottom of the majors for ERA and the St Louis' pen ranks only in the middle of the pack. Considering all of the above plus the very favorable weather conditions, you can see why we are expecting plenty of scoring in this one. Also, our computer math model shows a range of 12 to 13 as the most likely occurrence with the final run tally here and many simulations show a final run tally in the 14 range.
