#957/958 ASA PLAY ON Over 8.5 Runs - Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Diego Padres, Saturday at 8 PM ET - The Padres won yesterday's game 7 to 1.  This followed, for Arizona, an 8-0 loss that wrapped up their series with the Dodgers.  However, all of this ended a stretch of some big scoring games for the Diamondbacks when they are at home.  Prior to those 2 losses, the Dbacks had scored an average of 6 runs per game in their first 15 home games this season!  Both teams' bullpens have an ERA that ranks in the middle of the MLB rankings.  In terms of starting pitchers here we like the fact that the Padres' Michael King has allowed 4 or more earned runs in 3 of his last 4 starts and he allowed 8 homers in those 3 tough outings!  This should get the Diamondbacks bats going again as they had done well at home this season prior to these last two games. The Diamondbacks Brandon Pfaadt has been better recently but he still had an unimpressive 5.10 ERA for the month of April.  Also, he is facing a Padres team that has scored at least 6 runs in 3 straight games and in 4 of their last 5 games.  After scoring 7 runs yesterday the San Diego bats get it done again today and we also look for King's early season struggles to continue. That combination of factors will help to turn this into a high-scoring back and forth battle.  Over is the call in this one Saturday evening.
