#967/968 ASA PLAY ON Under 8.5 Runs – Boston Red Sox vs Philadelphia Phillies, Thursday at 7:10 PM ET - Yesterday's game was an 8-6 Boston win but we look for a much different type of ball game today. The Phillies Aaron Nola is 8-2 this season and has gone undefeated on the road where he has a 1.82 ERA this season and is holding opponents to a .174 batting average! Boston's Tanner Houck is also having a great season and he has a 1.91 ERA and opponents are hitting only .200 against him this season. The Phillies lineup is certainly not the same without Marsh and Turner and Realmuto. Even Clemens was swinging a big bat (.615 slugging percentage) before he got hurt. Before yesterday's wild game, 8 of 11 Phillies games had totaled 7 or less and we feel we are getting some solid line value here with this total at 8.5 runs. Boston, before yesterday's explosion at the plate and not including extra innings runs, had scored an average of only 2 runs per game the last 4 games. Both these bullpens are solid and we like the starting pitching match-up plenty in this one for an under. Likely pitchers' duel here and this one will, in all likelihood, be a tight low-scoring battle! Our computer math model projecting 6 to 7 runs here. We are going with the Under in this one.
