#907/908 ASA PLAY ON Under 7.5 Runs – St Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers, Saturday at 7:15 PM ET - The Cardinals have lost 6 straight games and things won't get any easier for this struggling team here. However, the Brewers bats are in for a tough challenge here with facing Kyle Gibson. He is off to a solid start this season plus has allowed only 5 earned runs in his 4 starts since mid-April. Gibson has gone at least 6 innings in all 7 of his starts this season and that minimizes the impact of the Cardinals bullpen here. Also, the Brewers bullpen is in good shape too after Robert Gasser came up from AAA and had a great start yesterday and gave them 6 innings! Now Freddy Peralta gets the start here and can handcuff this struggling Cardinals lineup. St Louis has lost 6 straight games and averaged only 2.4 runs scored in the last 5 of those defeats. Peralta has held hitters to a .174 batting average this season and .199 batting average in his career. Peralta has great stuff and is looking to rebound off a rare tough outing where walks were an issue and he also hit two batters after a start in which a hit batter resulted in a 5-game suspension. Now pitching with a little extra rest (he originally appealed and made his normal start but then served the suspension), Peralta is anxious to get on the mound and put the last start (6 walks) behind him. We expect he will dominate this slumping Cardinals team. The Milwaukee bats struggle too in this one however as Gibson has been on top of his game early this season. If you like good old-fashioned pitchers duels, this one appears to have all the ingredients to be one of those without a doubt. Our computer math model is projecting 5 to 6 runs here and even if it gets to 7 that is still a winning ticket for us. We are going with the Under in this one.
