Result: Win
#971 ASA PLAY ON Kansas City Royals -120 over Los Angeles Angels, Friday at 9:40 PM ET - The Royals are off to a solid start this season and one of the keys has been feasting on teams that have struggled. The Angels certainly fall into that category and this should be another road rout here just like we saw yesterday. KC is only 8-13 against teams that currently have a winning record this season but that means Kansas City is 15-3 against the rest of the league including bad teams like the Angels! Los Angeles enters this game having gone just 4-12 at home this season and with a record of 9-20 this season when facing teams with a winning record this season. The Royals are 23-16 on the season and very tough on lesser teams as noted above. The Angels have a -40 run differential while the Royals have a +52 run differential! That's a variance of 92 runs for about a 2.5 run variance per game if you compare what these teams have done so far this season. The Royals bullpen ERA is in the middle of the pack in the majors while the Angels are 29th and have struggled badly. The starting pitching edge also goes to KC here with Marsh over Canning. Marsh had a minor elbow issue but was pitching well before it happened and is ready to go again here. He has a 2.70 ERA this season and Canning has a 6.69 ERA this season. Also, Canning walked 5 in his most recent home start and he has struggled particularly with left-handed hitters this season. The Royals lineup could include 4 left-handed bats and plus some hot-hitting right-handed bats in this one too. It is definitely not a good combo for Canning to face and we look for Kansas City to roll big again here. Royals get the call in this one Friday.
