#716 ASA FREE PLAY ON St Louis -5.5 over Boise State, Saturday at 8 PM ET - Like this spot at home for St Louis coming off their worst performance of the year @ Iona on Tuesday night. The Billikens were a slight favorite in that game and lost by 22 points making only 31% of their shots and 26% of their 3’s. Prior to that SLU had 2 losses on the season, both to top 20 teams (Maryland & Auburn) and both away from home. We expect a big bounce back here vs a Boise team that has yet to play a true road game. The Billikens return 4 starters from a team that went 23-12 last season and they’ve added some key depth in the off-season. This is a very good team with one of the better “unknown” point guards in the country Yuri Collins who is drawing interest from NBA scouts. The SLU offense has been one of the most efficient in the country this season putting up 1.12 PPP which ranks then 24th on adjusted efficiency. That’s not fluke as the Billikens ranked 63rd in offensive efficiency last year and return almost everyone as we mentioned. We feel Boise State is a bit overvalued after winning 6 straight games but keep in mind their 2 losses this year are vs teams rated outside the top 130. The Broncos had a solid season last year but lost 3 starters and in their first true road game we think they’ll struggle. SLU has a great home court advantage winning 34 of their last 39 at Chaifetz Arena and in their 6 home game this year the Billikens are hitting almost 51% from the field. SLU hitting 76% from the FT line as a team and we like them to pull away in this one. Lay the points.
